ON Y2-Y4 NUCLEAR SHAPE CORRELATIONS

摘要
The correlation between Y2 and Y4 nuclear shapes is examined using a Hartree-Fock calculation. The hexadecapole moment is seen to change sign through a region of Y2 deformation, in agreement with recent experimental results as well as a previous theoretical conjecture. The importance of space correlations in understanding the structure of 24Mg and 25Mg is outlined. © 1969.
