ANOMALOUS BROADENING OF ANGLE-RESOLVED PHOTOEMISSION LINEWIDTHS ON W(011)

摘要
We present angle-resolved photoemission results from the surface-localized states near the Fermi level on W(011). The observed energy and momentum linewidths are anomalously broad compared with the predictions of theories based purely upon lifetime broadening of the final-state photohole and photoelectron. We hypothesize that the widths result from creation of phonons during the photoexcitation process. The relevance of these results to future photoemission experiments will be discussed. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
