STUDY OF A GAS-SOLID FLUIDIZED-BED STABILIZED BY PERMANENT-MAGNETS

摘要
This article presents the study of a gas-solid magnetically stabilized fluidized bed. It consists of spherical steel particles submitted to a magnetic field transversally oriented to the gas flow which is created by two permanent magnets. The pressure drop, stability and expansion of the bed are studied. We show that bubble free fluidization can be obtained for gas velocities much higher than minimal fluidization velocity. Pressure drop and gas velocity at minimum fluidization increase with increasing field intensity.
