ON THE APPLICATION OF A MONTE-CARLO METHOD TO THE NUCLEAR-LEVEL DENSITY PROBLEM

摘要
We calculate nuclear level densities in large shell model spaces by means of a Monte Carlo simulation based on the Metropolis sampling scheme. This technique, traditionally used for the simulation of dense molecular systems, seems very promising to determine nuclear level densities and spin-parity distributions.
