摘要:
The kinetics and mechanism of acid dissolution of two kaolinites with different degrees of crystallinity were studied. These minerals were obtained through mechanochemical treatment of a well crystallized kaolinite. The parameters obtained through a nucleation and growth model (rate constant, pre-exponential factor and apparent activation energy) are analyzed. The reaction rates are strongly dependent on the concentration of superficial defects created through the mechanochemical treatment. Cation-exchange capacity is used as a representative parameter to describe the observed increase in reaction rates.
