PRESSURE EFFECTS ON EQUILIBRATION KINETICS OF RHCLN(OH2)6-N(N-3)-SPECIES FOR N = 4, 5, 6 IN ACIDIC AQUEOUS-SOLUTION

摘要
The rates of equilibration of the RhCl63-, RhCl5(OH2)2-, and cis-RhCl4(OH2)2- ions were studied as a function of chloride ion concentration and pressure (1-1500 bar) at 20 °C and n = 4 M (HC104). ΔFV‡ values for the aquation of the hexachloro and pentachloro species are 21.5 ± 0.6 and 14.3 ± 0.5 cm3 mol-1. For the chloride anation of the pentachloro and tetrachloro species ΔV‡exptl are 15.7 ± 6.5 and 14.7 ± 1.6 cm3 mol-1. These results are discussed in terms of a dissociative mechanism. © 1978, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
