摘要
Five monkeys were trained to discriminate between 11 pairs of objects, both by vision in the light and by touch in the dark. Animals received between 3500 and 5150 trials of training overall, with multiple alternations between visual and tactile training on each problem. The formation of a cross-modal (discrimination) transfer set was assessed by comparing performance on reversal (or re-reversal) problems with performance on non-reversal problems. Little if any evidence for the formation of such a cross-modal transfer set was obtained, especially when effects possibly due to concurrent learning in two sense-modalities (i.e. bi-modal learning) were excluded. © 1969.
