摘要
The second virial coefficients of cellulose-, amylose- and polyvinyl-carbanilates in several solvents were measured as a function of the temperature. In three cases theta temperatures and phase separations were observed on heating the solutions. The second virial coefficients were divided into two parts A2S and A2H which correspond to entropy and heat of dilution. In a plot of A2S against A2H curves were obtained, which sometimes reverse their direction with increasing temperature. The results are discussed on the basis of theories of Prigogine and of Patterson, and are not reasonably explained by the concept of dispersion forces. © 1969.
