Lattice dynamical calculations on high Tc superconductor ErBa2Cu3O7 and non superconductor PrBa2Cu3O7 are studied using the shell model. Far infrared reflection spectra of PrxEr1-xBa2Cu3O7-y and PrxGd1-xBa2Cu3O7-y are studied for various Pr concentration x. Free carrier concentration for these systems is estimated by the fitting of the reflection spectra calculated from the model of the oscillators and the Drude term. Carrier density of 4 approximately 6 x 10(20) cm-3 is shown from the infrared optical measurement to be the critical carrier concentration for the superconductivity. "Barium mode" near 151 cm-1 has large oscillator strength for the systems studied here.
