摘要
The effects of RF bias on the texture, magnetic and recording properties of CoCr/Cr longitudinal thin film media have been studied. It was found that the coercivity of 180 A thick CoCr films could be increased by 1000 Oe for no RF bias to 1820 Oe with RF bias. Xray diffraction indicated that RF bias decreases the Bragg angles and improves the crystalline orientations of Cr films. The crystalline orientation of Cr was found to have a minor effect on the coercivity of the CoCr films. In addition, it was found RF bias reduces medium noise and increases the signal-to-noise ratio. © 1990 IEEE
