SOME RESULTS ON BROAD-BAND MICROSTRIP ANTENNA WITH LOW CROSS POLAR AND HIGH-GAIN

Stacked microstrip antennas have recently attracted a great deal of interest and development because of their large bandwidth. The main purpose of this communication is to present microstrip stacked square patches with low cross polar and high gain. The low cross polar is mainly due to the excitation feeds located on the diagonals of the square lower patch. These advantages are explained, compared to the usual case where the excitation is positioned along the median. The evolution of one of the principal antenna parameters is studied by the spectral domain approach. A stacked antenna is reallized on low loss substrate and experiment is compared with theory.
