摘要
The influence of metallic potassium (K) and KNO//3 promoters on the ammonia synthesis kinetics over Al//2O//3 and MgO supported ruthenium has been investigated in a fixed-bed reactor at 500 - 725 K and 150 kPa. Promotion with K increased the turnover frequency (TOF) of the Al//2O//3 supported Ru about 90 times and TOF of the MgO supported Ru about 60 times at 623 K. The KNO//3 promoter precursor, which is suggested to be transformed to KOH during reduction, exhibited a comparatively small effect on the ammonia synthesis activities of these catalyst systems. Ammonia synthesis rates were about first order with respect to nitrogen over both promoted and unpromoted systems.
