BREAKDOWN OF FORSTER KINETICS IN LOW VISCOSITY LIQUIDS - APPROXIMATE ANALYTICAL FORM FOR THE TIME-DEPENDENT RATE CONSTANT

摘要
The diffusion equation, based on Fick's second law, has been solved numerically with an added sink term, which falls off as r-6, to simulate reaction by a dipole-dipole mechanism. The results show that, even for large Ro values (≈ 6 nm), the Förster equation is seriously in error for diffusion coefficients > 10-9 m2 s-1, but that an interpolation formula, proposed by Gösele et al., reproduces the numerical solutions with high precision. © 1979.
