摘要
In this study, the relationships among state and trait anxiety, coping styles and depression were examined in a sample of adult psychiatric inpatients. Forty-three individuals completed measures of state and trait anxiety, situation perception, depression and coping styles at two different times (approximately two days after admission to the hospital, and approximately four days after the first test administration). Results revealed significant positive correlations between level of depressive symptomatology and both state and trait anxiety. Emotion-oriented coping was positively correlated with depression while task-oriented coping was negatively correlated with depression. Pragmatic implications of these results were discussed.
