摘要
Zeta-function regularization is used to evaluate the vacuum energy for a spinor field defined on a space-time of the form R x H-2/GAMMA, H-2 being the Lobatchevsky plane and GAMMA a strictly hyperbolic discrete subgroup of PSL(2, R). The necessary analytic continuation is performed making use of the Selberg trace formula.
