CALLUS INDUCTION AND PLANT-REGENERATION IN ALSTROEMERIA

摘要
Callus was induced from mature embryos of Alstroemeria cv. 'Butterfly' cultured on MS medium supplemented with 2.0 or 4.0 mg dm-3 2,4-D or picloram and incubated at 25-degrees-C in the dark. The effect of auxin concentration and preculture of embryos was studied. Callus was capable of regeneration after transfer to MS medium containing 4.0 mg dm-3 BAP. Shoots and whole plantlets were regenerated. The effect of growth regulators, used in the callus induction medium and the regeneration medium, on plant regeneration was studied.
