The problem first confronting shielded enclosure designers is that of determining the correct type of metal to be used and its required thickness. The shield effectiveness equations that must be solved to answer this problem are at best complex and cumbersome to handle. Graphical techniques developed to date are inaccurate, time consuming, and, in general, very difficult to use. The shielding charts developed for this presentation offer a simple, rapid method for solving the shielding problem in minutes.
