OXYGEN-ADSORPTION INDUCED ENERGY SHIFT OF A SURFACE-STATE ON CESIUM COVERED CU(111)

摘要
Photoelectron energy spectra from an oxygen exposed, partially Cs covered Cu(111) crystal show that a fractionally occupied electronic surface band shifts to higher energy upon oxygen adsorption. We associate the upward energy shift with the donation of surface state electrons to weakly chemisorbed cesium oxide molecules formed on the surface. © 1979.
