DECAY SCHEME OF 86-SEC 61ZN

The decay of the 86-sec Zn61 has been investigated using Ge(Li) and NaI(Tl) -ray detectors. Coincidence relationships among the rays were established in - coincidence experiments. It was found from observed coincident rays that the decay of the 86-sec Zn61 populates levels at 476.3, 970.7, 1311.1, 1661.4, 1908.1, 2090.9, 2359.2, 2474.3, 2684.7, 2793.7, 2841.5, and 2932.7 keV. Levels in Cu61 at 1394.9, 1934.8, level 2858.1, 3016.8, and 3090.4 keV are proposed on the basis of observed -ray intensities, energy sums, and positions established from studies of nuclear reactions. May spin assignments have been made from present logft values and previously reported correlation data from studies of nuclear reactions. The half-life of Zn61 was measured and found to be 85.90.6 sec. The levels inCu61 are compared with previously reported theoretical calculations based on current models for the nucleus. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
