SIMULATED NORTHERN HEMISPHERE TEMPERATURE DEPARTURES 1579-1880

Using a short‐cut method to estimate Northern Hemisphere temperature and a calibration period from 1881‐1975a number of long instrumental temperature series and some time series of proxy data were used to reconstruct approximate annual temperature departures from the 1881‐1975 average for the interval 1579‐1880.
