摘要
A Green's function method is developed for the calculation of the line shape of the radiation from an atom in a plasma. It is shown that the width of the line is proportional to the imaginary part of the reciprocal of the dielectric function of the plasma. The theory includes electron correlations and quantum effects and thus results in convergent expressions for the line shape. It is also shown that for equilibrium plasmas, no resonance in the line shape occurs at frequency separations equal to the plasma frequency. © 1969.
