SORPTION OF PHENOLS FROM WATER AND SUBSEQUENT THERMAL-DESORPTION FOR GC ANALYSIS

摘要
The method has been developed for the recovery of trace amounts of phenol, o-cresol, m-cresol, and 2, 6-xylenol from water. The phenols were sorbed from the aqueous phase on the macroporous polymer sorbent. The desorption was carried out by the heating of sorbent, and desorbed components were led directly to a gas chromatograph. The dependence of phenols recovery on experimental conditions and solute molecular structure was studied. The described method is suitable for the determinations of phenols in water in the concentration range of 1-103 ppb. © 1979 Oxford University Press.
