Data from ocean weather ships on Station 'I' have been analysed and 3,901 cases found where wave heights were both visually observed and measured by recorder at the same date and time. A close correlation between these readings was noticed and regression analyses were used to discover the relationship. A graphical comparison was made with other work in this field and reasons were given to explain the differences. © 1979.
