摘要
1. 1. Using histochemical techniques the lens, cornea and retina were shown to have both the pentose shunt and glycolytic pathways while only the photoreceptor had critic acid cycle activity. 2. 2. The kinetic properties of retinal lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) favor nonglycolytic metablolism. 3. 3. High temperature characteristics and low substrate inhibition for lens and cornea LDH favors glycolytic pathways for glucose metabolism in these tissues. © 1969.
