摘要
We have calculated the diffusion and dynamical friction coefficients for a test-particle in a two-dimensional, one-component, spatially homogeneous plasma. The coefficients for the Fokker-Planck and Balescu-Lenard kinetic equations are compared for the two-dimensional analogue of the Lorentz velocity distribution function. Significant differences between the two sets of coefficients are found. These differences are attributed, in part at least, to the difference of dynamical shielding in two and three dimensions and to the particular choice of velocity-distribution function. © 1969.
