STABILITY CONSTANTS OF O-PHENYLENEDIOXYDIACETIC ACID CHELATES OF BIVALENT METALS

摘要
The stability constants of o-phenylenedioxydiacetic acid chelates of bivalent metals were determined by the pH titration method at 25°C and ionic strength of 0·1, and the results were compared with those of phenoxyacetic acid and α-carboxyphenoxyacetic acid chelates previously reported. The stability constants of the 1 : 1 chelates, log K1 determined were: Cd 3·8, Cu 3·3, Ca 3·1, Mn 2·8, Sr 2·3, Zn 2·0, Ba 2·0, Ni 1·6, Mg < 1·5 and Co 1·1. Lead formed precipitates with this ligand. The unusual stability order of these chelates is supposed to be due to the ligand structure involving the ether-bonded oxygen atom. © 1968.
