摘要
This work reports on the synthesis, microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of nanocrystalline NiAl materials. Nanoscale crystallites of NiAl were formed by high energy milling of pre-alloyed powder, with and without Al2O3 particulate additions, under an Ar atmosphere. Consolidation of the powders was accomplished by die-forging and re-forging at < 0.5 T-m in air. Characterization of the powders and consolidated microstructures and Vickers hardness data are reported. Analysis of the hardness data indicates that the majority of the strengthening is due to the refined microstructure.
