摘要
The results of these studies indicate the presence of three proteins heretofore unidentified in the uncontaminated perilymph of the living otosclerotic human. Altogether five proteins have been identified in uncontaminated perilymph from this and a previous investigation (Fig. 2). It is felt that these proteins are not the result of contamination. Alpha1 acid glycoprotein is often associated with chronic, degenerative diseases as well as the result of trauma from surgical procedures. This protein may be present due to these conditions and not be a normal component of uncontaminated perilymph. Further investigations utilizing micro methods and more sensitive quantitative procedures such as electroimmunodiffusion quantitatiorr11 of minute amounts of protein may allow for a more definitive investigation into the protein changes in the perilymph due to otologic pathology. It is our feeling that other proteins may well be present in the perilymph. However, until more sensitive methods for their detection and quantitation are available, determinations will not be possible because of the paucity of the material which can be properly collected and examined from the living human. © 1969, SAGE Publications.
