摘要
Layers of Xe, Kr, Ar were formed by vapour deposition under various conditions (condensation temperature, rate of layer growth, and layer thickness). The corresponding sorption capacities of such layers were measured using hydrogen as adsorbate. Sorption capacities, us high as 195 m mol H2/mol sorbent, using Xe as sorbent, have been measured. The sorption capacity is most strongly influenced by the temperatture of condensation and by the gas but to a lesser extent by the rate of layer growth and layer thickness. Porous layers can be grown only below 40 K for Xe, 29 K for Kr, and 18 K for Ar, respectively, indicating that at higher temperatures compact layers are grown. The sorption capacity shows a broad maximum in dependence on temperature. The temperature at which the maximum sorption capacity is reached, shifts to lower temperatures within the series Xe-Ar [Xe 13 K, Kr 10 K. Ar 6 K). Furthermore, a considerable decrease of the maximum sorption capacity is also found within the series Xe-Ar (from 125 m mol H2/mol Xe to 90 m mol H2/mol Kr and 60 m mol H2/mol Ar, respectively). © 1979.
