THE INFLUENCE OF CARRIER CONCENTRATION ON THE SUPERCONDUCTIVE PROPERTIES OF YBA2CU3-XLIXO6.5+Y-X-2

The influence of the addition of lithium at five different concentration levels on the electrical properties of YBa2Cu3O6.5+y (123) compound has been investigated. A complete chemical characterisation of the doped samples has been performed determining the oxygen concentration by iodometric titration and the Li content by spectrometrical flame analyses. A decrease of the lattice parameter c has been revealed by X-ray measurements with the increase of the lithium content. It appears that the Li prefers the Cu site on the CuO2 Planes and decreases the T(c) transition temperature, inducing, progressively, a semiconductor behaviour also at constant average Cu charge.
