PARALLEL INTERCONNECTION THROUGH AN OPTICAL FIBER USING PHASE CONJUGATION MIRROR ACCEPTABLE FOR OPTICAL-DATA PATTERN

摘要
A new class of optical parallel interconnections is proposed, in which a two-dimensional data pattern is directly transmitted through a multimode fiber. It is successfully demonstrated using an optically addressed spatial light modulator that functions as a data input port and a phase conjugation mirror. This interconnection technology is shown to be very effective for two-dimensional data transmission between optical processors and memories.
