POSTOPERATIVE ALKALINE REFLUX GASTRITIS - SURGICAL IMPLICATIONS

Six patients who had previously had gastric surgery exhibited the features necessary for the diagnosis of postoperative alkaline reflux gastritis. The clinical, endoscopic, and gastric secretory findings are discussed. The surgical management by means of a Roux-en-Y gastrojejunal type of anastomosis is discussed with a comment on the pertinent histologic data. Follow-up data are presented as well as the results of other studies on the subject of alkaline reflux into the stomach and the clinicopathologic effects thereof. © 1969.
