PHASE OPERATOR AND ITS EIGENSTATE IN LIOUVILLE SPACE

摘要
A phase variable as a quantum mechanical operator, which is canonically conjugate to the number-difference operator, is shown to be defined within the framework of the Liouville space formulation. The properties of the phase operator and its eigenstate are investigated. It is found that the phase variable has maximum uncertainty in a stationary state. Time as a dynamical variable is also discussed.
