ANALYSIS OF PENGUIN-INDUCED B-DECAYS OF THE TYPE B-]M-PHI(M-EPSILON(PI,RHO,...)) BEYOND LEADING LOGARITHMS

We investigate non-leptonic B-meson decays of the type B --> MPHI (M is-an-element-of {pi,rho,...}) caused by the quark process b --> dssBAR beyond leading logs by using the effective Hamiltonian for \DELTAB\ = 1, DELTAC = DELTAU = 0 transitions calculated by Buras et al. recently and demonstrate that these decays should be dominated by electroweak penguins. As an example, we present numerical results for B- --> pi-PHI by estimating the hadronic matrix elements within the Bauer-Stech-Wirbel model and find that both BR(B- --> pi-PHI) = O(10(-8)) and a(CP)(B- --> pi-PHI) = O(10(-2)) depend stongly on m(t) and are reduced through the next-to-leading order corrections by about 30% and 70%, respectively.
