1. 1. A study utilizing thirty-three extracted mandibular central and lateral incisor teeth was conducted to determine whether a reaming or a filing action produced differences in the shape of the prepared root canal. 2. 2. Neither a reamer nor a file, when used with a reaming action, produced any significant deviation from circular canal preparation. 3. 3. A file, when used with a filing action, did produce significant deviation from a circular preparation. © 1969.
