Experimental data are reported in conformity with the Fuoss-Onsager theory for the dissociation of several common polarographic supporting electrolytes in acetonitrile. Tetra-ethyl ammonium tetraflouroborate and perchlorate are completely dissociated, yielding a small negative value for KA. Sodium perchlorate (completely dissociated) and potassium perchlorate (KA = 12) are mostly extensively dissociated than previously reported. Implications of the association data for tetramethylammonium chloride and tetra-ethylammonium bromide on metal-halide equilibrium studies in acetonitrile are discussed. © 1969.
