摘要
Thioacetamide toxicity in dogs has been studied. A dose of 25 mg/kg on alternate days will produce hepatic necrosis usually of the portal type, within twenty to thirty days. Six of the nine animals receiving this dose died in the stage of necrosis. The other three survived three to four months and developed hypertrophic cirrhosis with portal hypertension and ascites. Three dogs received 500 mg of thioacetamide twice a week. One died on the thirty-second day. The other two survived five and six months and developed atrophic cirrhosis of the Laennec type with abundant ascites. It is suggested that these animals have exhibited the phenomenon of Toxialepsy. © 1968 Informa UK Ltd.
