摘要
Phomopsis foeniculi the causal agent of fennel stem necrosis, when grown on liquid culture produced toxic metabolites. One of the more abundant phytotoxic metabolites, named foeniculoxin, was isolated and characterized using spectroscopic and chemical methods as 2-(6,7-dihydroxy-7-methyl-3-methylen-1-ynyl)-hydroquinone, a new geranylhydroquinone which is moderatly toxic on host and non-host plants.
