摘要
In hydrothermal veins, quartz is a dominant gangue mineral and is typically the only phase deposited throughout the life of the hydrothermal system. Therefore, the characteristics of quartz might reflect differing hydrothermal conditions during vein growth, including those which favor gold mineralization. The main themes of this paper are to develop a unified classification of common quartz textures in epithermal veins, to understand their possible origins in terms of the processes of formation and fluid conditions, and to explore the relationship between quartz textures and gold mineralization on a broad scale. -from Authors
