摘要：

The advent of the balloon arterial embolectomy catheter technic,1 enabled a more aggressive approach to the treatment of arterial embolism and thrombosis. Severe immediate and late complications secondary to arterial thrombosis have been reported in children and infants following cardiac catheterization via the femoral or brachial artery. Gangrene of the right index finger, dry gangrene of the leg necessitating above-the-knee amputation, and intermittent claudication have noted in patients below the age of eight years.2,3. The use of the balloon catheter in the treatment of peripheral arterial thrombosis in 10 infants and young children following cardiac catheterization or arterial cannulation, will be described. © 1969.
