摘要
A non-linear heat production and diffusion equation model for thermoregulation in a stationary swarm of honeybees is presented. The model assumes that individual bees' behaviour is governed solely by their body temperature. The results are qualitatively similar to observations and support the theory that no co-ordination within the swarm is necessary for thermoregulation. © 1993 Academic Press Limited.
