摘要
Mössbauer spectra of Fe57 in stoichiometric YFe2O4 polycrystals were measured and analysed. An abrupt change of magnetically ordered spectra at 220 K indicates that there are two phases in an antiferromagnetic state. Spectra in the low temperature phase, showing four sextets with very narrow width, suggest the charge ordering of Fe ions. In a paramagnetic state, it was observed that two quadrupole doublets coalesced into a single doublet between 300 K and 373 K. This indicates an electron hopping between Fe 2+ and Fe 3+faster than 10 -8 s at 373 K. © 1979, THE PHYSICAL SOCIETY OF JAPAN. All rights reserved.
