STUDY OF THE FLUX PATTERN IN THE HIGH-TC SUPERCONDUCTOR YBA2CU3O7 BY Y-89-NMR

The field distribution in the superconducting state of the high-T(c) superconductor YBa2Cu3O7 has been probed by Y-89-NMR. Data have been taken on oriented powder samples in a field of 7.5 T for H parallel-to c-axis and H parallel-to (a,b)-plane. For H parallel-to c line broadening is only detected below 83 K, i.e. 10% lower than the zero field transition temperature T(c)(0) almost-equal-to 92 K. The temperature dependence of the linewidth is well described by a two-fluid formula if T is scaled by the melting or irreversibility temperature T* approximately 83 K instead of T(c)(0), as in the analysis of the low-field muon data.
