NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RELAXATION IN POLY(ETHYLENE OXIDE) - SALT SOLUTIONS

摘要
This article describes studies of nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in poly(ethylene oxide)-salt solutions. Addition of KI to solutions of PEO in deuterated methanol produces large changes in the relaxation of the polymer protons. These changes can be described quantitatively in terms of free and associated PEO units along the polymer chain. Salting-out effects, as evidenced in the macroscopic solution viscosity, are not reflected in T1 Aqueous PEO solutions of KI and K2SO4 were also studied. Under these conditions, neither salt has an effect on spin relaxation. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
