摘要
1. 1. Hepatectomized hagfish survived 5-30 days without administration of glucose. 2. 2. In contrast to other vertebrates, hepatectomized hagfish experienced only a transient hyperglycemia, as did the sham-operated animals. 3. 3. Plasma amino nitrogen levels were unchanged after hepatectomy. 4. 4. These data, together with activities of glucose-6-phosphatase in various organs, suggest that the liver of this primitive animal does not serve the same regulatory function in carbohydrate metabolism as in higher vertebrates. © 1978.
