The 'Living with Asthma Questionnaire' is an asthma-specific quality of life scale for assessing patients' own subjective experiences of asthma. The purpose of the questionnaire is to assist individual patient management and to provide an outcome measure for use in clinical trials. The scale has 68 items and covers 11 domains of asthma experience which were derived from focus group discussions amongst asthma sufferers. The initial item set was refined through standard psychometric techniques using a total of 783 patients and there is no statistical evidence for independent, domain-specific subscales.
