THERMOLYSIS OF RU3(CO)10[FE(ETA-C5H4PPRI2)2] - STRUCTURE OF RU3(CO)8(MU-H)2[ETA-PC5H4)FE(ETA-C5H4PPRI2)] AND RU3(CO)8(MU-H)(MU-OH)[MU-FE(ETA-C5H4PPRI2)2]

摘要
Heating Ru3(CO)10(Fc'(PPr(i)2)2) (Fc' = Fe(eta-C5H4)2) in refluxing cyclohexane affords three products in moderate yields. The complex Ru3(CO)8(mu-H)2[(eta-PC5H4)Fe(eta-C5H4PPr(i)2)] (7) was characterized by X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P1BAR, with a = 11.782 (4) angstrom, b = 12.538 (5) angstrom, c = 10.193 (6) angstrom, alpha = 95.70 (4)-degrees, beta = 98.70 (4)-degrees, gamma = 84.41 (3)-degrees, and Z = 2; the final R value of 0.027 was obtained by using 6083 observed reflections. The phosphinidene group caps one face of the Ru3 triangle. The two bridging hydrides were located in the structure refinement. One side product, Ru3(CO)8(mu-Cl)(mu-OH)[mu-Fc'(PPr(i)2)2] (9), was also characterized by X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n, with a = 16.330 (2) angstrom, b = 11.651 (2) angstrom, c = 19.147 (3) angstrom, beta = 93.34 (1)-degrees, and Z = 4; the final R value of 0.030 was obtained by using 4910 observed reflections. The Cl, OH, and ferrocene moieties bridge the same two Ru atoms that are not otherwise connected by a metal-metal bond.
