FATTY ACIDS IN HONEY BEES (APIS MELLIFERA) INFECTED WITH PROTOZOAN NOSEMA APIS

摘要
Lipids extracted from honey bees (Apis mellifera) infected with Nosema apis and from uninfected bees were analyzed for total fatty acids by gas-liquid chromatography. Qualitative differences were found in the types of fatty acids present. In infected bees the relative percentages of fatty acids with carbon chain lengths of C18:1 and C18:0 decreased and those with chain lengths of C16:0, C18:2 and C18:3 increased. © 1968.
