摘要
Two experiments were conducted to replicate the reported finding (A. K. Entus, 1977, In S. J. Segalowitz and F. Gruber, Eds., Language development and neurological theory, New York: Academic Press) that infants demonstrate a right-ear advantage in the perception of dichotically presented CV syllables. Using the nonnutritive sucking paradigm, infants were presented with verbal stimuli contingent upon criterion level sucking. In both replication attempts, stimuli, response criteria, and equipment involved in recording response measures were identical to those used by Entus. However, several control measures were introduced. Analysis of variance on the recovery of sucking scores were performed to determine the effects of ears, minutes, sex, and order of stimulus change. In both experiments there were no significant differences in the recovery scores between ears. © 1979.
