摘要：

Oxytocin was determined by means of a specific radioimmunoassay in blood plasma of cows around parturition. Blood samples were collected from the jugular vein via an indwelling canula from 7 cows of the local Brown Swiss breed. During late pregnancy, oxytocin levels were below the sensitivity of the assay (< 3 pg/ml) but increased during the period when the calf was expelled (range 62-194 pg/ml), then decreased to lower measurable levels and increased again for a short period at the time of expulsion of the placenta. Afterwards oxytocin levels were again below the detectable range. © 1979.
